Description of each Group Fitness class Schedule

Aerobic fitness and a consistent stretching practice with proper rest/recovery are strongly encouraged at PTHQ, we offer a fun boxersise class that caters for low to high intentisy. We offer Yoga classes to bring balance into your training schedule. Myofascial stretch classes to bring deep gentle stretching and healing to restore our body.

Myofacial stretch classes

Myofascial release offers so many benefits to everyone, not just athletes.  It is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue to eliminate pain and tension and restore motion in the body.  By manipulating the myofascia, physical and energetic constrictions are released, opening areas that may feel stuck or resistant to change.  Myofacial stretching is a WHOLE BODY approach that supports health and wellness within the WHOLE body. OUR MINDS, OUR HEARTS, OUR BODIES, OUR SPIRITS. 

Increases blood flow;

By getting rid of knots and tension in the fascia that may be restricting circulation in the body.  These techniques help to keep your muscles and connective tissue well hydrated.  That means that you’ll recover and heal faster.

Reduce muscle soreness with better circulation to your muscles and connective tissues;

You’ll experience less muscle soreness.  This is particularly helpful if you are involved in any physical activity, or feeling the impact of sitting for too long in your day to day life.

Maintains normal functional muscular length;

Myofascial release relieves tension in the fascia network and helps your muscles return to their normal length, improving muscle function.

Encourages movement of your lymph;

A major component of your immune system that helps to fight infection in the body.  However, the lymph system relies on movement pressure to move the fluid.

Myofascial release can encourage the flow of lymph back to the heart;

Ultimately, this means that you’ll move better, recover faster, perform better and have less pain so that you can continue to be active and do what you love to do.

Ashtanga Yoga

This dynamic, physically demanding practice synchronizes breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body.  Ashtanga yoga, with its many vinyasas, is great for building core strength and toning the body.  Prepare to sweat as you briskly move through a set sequence.  Ashtanga Yoga was founded by K. Pattabhi Jois. 

Boxercise

Is an interval class based on boxing training, is suitable for all fitness levels.  It is a fun way to burn through excess body fat and build your fitness.

Want to work out your entire body and let off some steam?
Boxercise gives you just that.  This boxing class blends the best of boxing training techniques to give you an hour of great exercise. 

It’s an awesome cardio workout that will get your heart rate up, and will also help you develop muscle tone and core strength.  We’ll teach you tried and true boxing strength and conditioning work, as well as bag and pad work to tone your upper body.  This class is a true full body fitness experience.
